Could someone enlighten me as to how the OnePlus 3 can have those specs but come in at such a low price? Is this company profitable? If so, then how do they manage to do so?

Just curious! Lots off knowledgeable tech folks here.

One Plus' parent organization is Oppo and they're among the top 5 smartphone vendors. When you're based right where the parts are being produced and producing a lot of them yourself, cutting costs and buying power is greatly increased.

They are owned by a big Chinese company who are owned by an even bigger Chinese company.

They have scale and they have buying power. What they don't have is thousands of expensive staff in Canada with huge payroll taxes (if you are comparing them to BB for example)

They also don't have quite the marketing or sales budget or strategy one typically sees. They have successfully leveraged social media to develop a very loyal fan base that helps drum up interest.

That plus the invite system and a pretty vocal CEO fosters an unusually intimate relationship that gave the company quite a bit of visibility, IMO.

Well, there you have it, Bla1ze, app_Developer and TGR1 pretty much covered it.

OnePlus have been very clever and a major part of it is due to location, Location, LOCATION!

That pricing is going to hurt many competitors, especially with OnePluses improved delivery system.

They don't spend money on : inventory, marketing, customer support, fringe unnecessary features. Last time if was NFC chip, quick charging. This time its a 2K display. I haven't seen any revenue figures except two years ago when they sold 500,000 of the OnePlus One and eaked out a literal few dollars profit.
