So the new BBs like the Tour and Bold have been coming out with the keyboard that has all the keys stuck together.
The old BBs like the Curve 8330 have a keyboard that is more spaced out. I find that it is much more comfortable to type on the the old keyboards than the new ones. Like my 8830WE constantly gives me "Blackberry Thumb" and it's really annoying.

This is kind of turning me off on buying a 9000 series BB and opting for an 8530. Thoughts?
I like the feel of the new one a lot more. Everytime I use my friends Bold I get jealous and don't want to go to my loud plastic Curve keyboard. At least I got a QWERTY!

I tried the new one in the store, but couldn't type as fast on it as my current BlackBerry. I kept making quite a few typos. If I do decide to upgrade, I'm hoping I can adapt and become a fan of the new style. One thing I do hate about the keys on my current BlackBerry,.....they are so loud when trying to type in a quiet environment.

I prefer the new, as well. When upgrading from a Curve or other older device it definitely is different at first, but I'd never consider going back to the old style after adapting to the new.

I wouldn't really consider the curve's old, it's just a different style.
The curve series (now with the 8900) has the keyboard being more spaced out.
The Bold/Tour series are just improved from the 88xx series kb.
I prefer the Bold 9000 kb over all (for size), but prefer the curve kbs over the Tour/9700 as the kb is a lot more cramped due to the size of the device being smaller than the Bold 9000.
Thanks for the informative replies everyone. Welp it looks like a landslide for the newer style... but I'm glad that there are a few people that do agree with me.
It's just that I'm a tall guy with big hands which means big thumbs and the extra space seems to be easier on my thumbs. It would be awesome if you could have interchangable keyboards too.
With that being said.. I tried to order the 8530 on Sprint and they didn't have it. But I did get a heck of a deal on the Tour even though I kinda want the Tour2.
I got $50 off my first and second months of service, no activation fee and free shipping.
One funny thing was they couldn't charge my card because I couldn't read the CVV number off my card so the sales guy is sending me the phone anyway lol. Sprint must be desperate to get new customers.
I really did NOT want to spend $300 today on a phone, but what the frig, I really want a tour and I am sick of rebooting my 8830WE for memory problems. I'm gunna play with it for 30 days and see if Essex comes out. If not probably pick up the 8530 if I can't stand the keyboard on the Tour either.
I used to have the 9000 and my gf has the 8900. I honestly loved the 9000 keyboard better than the 8900, albiet the feedback from the keys on the 8900 is nice, its just a tad too "clicky" for me
