Hey guys ,

I'm new here however I've had a Blackberry for multiple years. I just got the BB Q10 and the lady at the store said I could use my old charger for the new one... Is this true? I heard for the Z10 it wasn't good therefore I'm a little worried using the old charger for my new Q10. But I can't use the new charger since the cord is so short!
Just to specify , my old BB was the Bold 9700.
And if using my old charger is dangerous , is there not a normal charger available without the USB input?

you can use the old chargers. It might charge a little slower is all.

Does it matter if the USB cable is BlackBerry brand? I was thinkin about getting a 10 footer or somethin off amazon. One it comes with is way to short

I think shop CrackBerry got oem micro usb cord if it is what you are looking for 8.95. BlackBerry Micro USB Cable 1.2m (ACC-39504-101/ASY-28109-003). Check the CrackBerry site.

All USB connectors supply 5 volts to the device; it's an industry standard. It absolutely does not matter what brand, age, etc. the charger is, as long as it fits (Micro USB on all phones except those stupid Apple products) it works.

The only difference is amperage from the source. Higher amps charge the battery faster.

I use the wall charger from my 9550. It is a world charger with interchangeable prongs for different kinds of outlets. I also use BlackBerry cubes,apple cubes, rubix cube and ice cubes.

Item arrived but discovered that the micro USB cable is NOT a genuine blackberry product, however the actual charger is. In my opinion this should have been identified a little more clearly in the product description. Now that I have received it I see that it is worded very carefully.

I had another OEM cable so using it with the charger. Would have returned but didn't want to waste any more time with it.

I still use the chargers from my 9650 and 9930 with my Q10. The one that came with the Q is by my bed, the 9650 charger is in my bag at work, the 9930's in the living room. My Q has not melted or blown up yet
