My honest opinion, if I were you, I wouldn't tinker with anything in there until you become very familiar with things and can fix your mess ups, chances are you will brick your phone and quite possibly beyond repair.
Yep, what he said.

My thinking exactly.
I would not play around with it...
Well, we will wait for your new thread:
HELP - I have bricked my 8530.
The truth is, the E Screen is there for the Engineers to fine tune the preformance of the device. It is not likley that you will be able to improve on any of the settings, without impacting something else.
It is impossible to further optimize it without having any feedback for testing.
Odds are, you will only make it worse.
i'm not a dummy. i wouldn't change any settings if i don't know what they are. But i happen to be technologically experienced and i always love to learn new things so if you want to reply to this post by talking to me like i'm an ***** don't bother, but if you have some genuine information for me i would greatly appreciate it. And for those people who already answered my post (minus reed the forum moderator), you guys are not better than me just cause you've been posting on this site longer than me and maybe you should consider being less condescending and snotty before you open your mouths
I don't get why everyone is so anti-escreen.
Just be careful. There's a couple things to do in the link in my sig, explore around and don't change anything that looks important.
I've only heard of one person actually reining their phone from the escreen. And I don't even know for sure that they actually ruined it, just that they didn't know how to fix it themselves.
Granted no one is trying to insult you, don't take it so personally. They're giving you a legitimate warning, and I don't see any malace.
Nobody here thinks they are better than you because of the length of time and number of posts here, and most people weren't being condescending and snotty either.
I was simply giving you a warning that apparently you think you are too good for.
Good luck with the "super special escreen" I'm sure there's things in there you can improve as I doubt the engineers at RIM never thought to do so.
i have gone through the escreen many times and finally found out what most of the things in there do and what they mean. the only true valuable thing in there was being able to manually switch from 3G to 2G only on the old at&t Bold 9000 before it became a menu option. most of it is information such as hardware/software and networks details you cant even change. and being on a CDMA phone, there really isnt much to play with anyways. cool factor and bragging rights it all you got. as stated, dont mess with anything in there.
You got condescending. Answers cause your in a condescending section. This section is riddled with comments like "my android than your BlackBerry or I dropped my blackberry in the pond and now it won't work. Can you believe that? So now I'm going to the better ip4". This is not the best section to find the answers you seek. Matter of fact you really ought to be suspect of any answers given here. Beings techo experenced as you say you really should should know that. There's 1 tool in our bag that will never wear out and that's google. I'm not trying to be a ****, its just you don't get "meat and taters" from the "ceral" bar.

My thoughts are, if you have to ask about it, you shouldn't be messing around with it.
