I am a pretty geeky guy. I own 4 laptops (including 1 linux) and have a home network worthy of a Fortune 500 company. But I never saw the beauty of the smart phone / PDA world. I have always bought really basic cell phones and I have kept them for years. My wife said that my old cell was an embarassment. On Valentine's Day she bought me a Sprint 8130 Pearl with an unlimited data plan. In only a few days my entire world has changed. It is really amazing how quickly this little device has become central to my very existence.
I'm also a new BB user and I run Linux exclusively. (2 laptops, 3 desktops.) Be sure to check out Barry. (Its over at Sourceforge, too new to post links)
I haven't messed with its syncing ability at all but the bcharge binary is a good way to charge your blackberry from your linux box.

first, she's a keeper. second, nice choice! third, nicely put.
I got my first cellphone in three years and always used the "basic' phone...But this time I sighned up for a plan and got a blackberry 8130...I just cant seem to put it down...I love it
I've had my pearl for just two weeks and my wife calls me a BB junkie....I can't help it. It keeps calling me and calling me...Can't get enough of the BB fix.
