Nov. 21/08 - Turned Off User Stats for a bit

Hey Guys,

With the launch of the Storm our servers are getting hammered more than ever today. It's been causing the forums to slow up a bit and serve up some error pages too. We've been adding more server power continually over the past few months and it looks like we'll have to add some more.

In the meantime, to help speed things up, I've temporarily turned off the user statistics that appear at the bottom of the forums homepage (that show who's logged in, etc). Every time that page is loaded it queries the database and slows things up. Turning it off temporarily should help.

Rest Assured, there's a ton of people on the site browsing away! Will turn it back on as soon as the Storm blows over :)
