Ive seen energi to go portable instant cell phone charger.
Has anyone tried them for their blackberry? The FAQ says you can use them, and I think I will get the mini usb one.

I guess it would be okay. Just make sure the voltage & amperage output rating is the same as the BB input rating. This should be around 5V/700mA.

They are okay to use.
I usually build my own, but I have used the "Energizer Energi-to-go" charger in a pinch after giving mine away.

I had a retractable that I got from target, the kind that you have multi phone plugs for all the different makes and then you can plug the usb on the other end for the charger or wall charger, its great, but my mini usb broke...and I do not want to buy another one just for a tiny usb.
I wish I could make my own but I know Id mess it up!

As cheap as they are why don't you just get an extra battery for your BB, I have 3 of them and find it much easier to swap out my battery than have my phone on dialysis while it regains some power. I get batteries from eforcity for like 5 or 6 bucks
