    Hi everyone,
I've just purchased a T-Mobile 8900 from a friend, but I noticed there's no 'wifi' selection in the 'Manage Connections' !

I loaded 2 different firmwares, and a third 5.0 one also, but still can't get the 'wifi' listed in 'Manage Connections' !

    It shows 'Services Status'
    then
    'Set Up Bluetooth'

while it should show 'Set Up Wi-Fi Network' between the above 2 choices !

    Any ideas ?

    Thanks.

Are you sure you have an 8900?

The 8900 has Wifi, but I don't think the 9530 has Wifi.

Wow... that's great... how about updating your profile.

Was the phone unlocked from another carrier... and where is the carrier "Etisalat"??? I've heard some countries actually restrict their Wifi with an IT Policy.

There is no need for an attitude if you are looking for help. This would not have been the first time someone has made that mistake. I do not know you from Adam so it was worth asking the question.

You know every Blackberry in the world? I highly doubt that is true.

    well,
I would appreciate all the help you provide, but it's essential that I have gone through the basics, until I didn't find any solution.

Etisalat is in U.A.E., Middle East.

I'm an old user of BB, and I've own much more than you can imagine.

    It's a hobby.

At the moment, I have 3 Curve 8900 , two of them are OK, but the third isn't.

2 out of the 3 are with 2 different carries, but not T-MOBILE.

This is like pulling teeth... we have to dig for everything with you

2 out of the 3 are with 2 different carries, but not T-MOBILE.
Detail about this 8900... what's the difference between this 8900 and the other 2... different carrier or the same as one of the other 8900... and going back to one of the questions I had earlier that you did not answer... you said you bought this from someone... was it unlocked or is it locked to the carrier you are using it on???

Also, since you have 3 different 8900's... did you try doing a Device Switch with one of the 8900's that everything works ok with???

they were locked, and I got them unlocked off ebay.

I did try to swap the sim-cards here and there, but it's the same.
I have 2 sim cards, one with a blackberry service and the other is without,
so I don't think it has anything to do with the bb service !

This faulty one connects to BB service, and does everything, but the 'wifi' is not present in the options of the network-selection !

I think it's an internal software issue .

I suggest you go ask your friend about why the option is not there.

You say you've upgraded... have you attempted to Wipe your device and load an OS with something like CrackMem... that will give you a totally clean OS load, with no settings carrying forward... give that a try.

Since you are not helping us to help you by answering the follow-up questions directly then I am going to assume you have an IT policy on the device and even with your vast knowledge of Blackberries, cannot figure this out on your own. Here is a link that should help you out, but I'm sure you already know everything in the link already.

Good call aristile... because a wipe will not get rid of an IT Policy.

    aristile ,
I don't like your way in discussions here at all,
so I would appreciate it if you could stay away and away from this topic.

I can handle without your 'attitude' , and if I couldn't solve this problem then I'll just keep this phone for parts.

I know CrackUtil and I know JL_Cmder , and I know FG box , and much more.
You've not done any help yet, except talking and talking and showing off nothing,

so, again, I would appreciate it if you help someone else out there.

No problem, I'll just add you to my ignore list and go on my way. Good luck to you!

Remember, you were the one needing help and you were the one that started with the attitude, not me.
