    I have Tmo at the moment and the service is great everywhere in Dallas. I just moved to a new apartment but can't talk on my phone/text/IM anywhere in the apartment except the living room. If I go into the bedroom or bathroom...(yeah I'm a toilet texter ) my signal meter goes red and says SOS. It's reallllly annoying because I can't always be in the living room when using my phone. Any suggestions?

    Anyone you know with another or same carrier? See if they have the same problem. It might be just you, everyone on Tmo, or maybe everyone (due to structural and other issues).

    Tmo has the hotspot @ home service via WIFI, it is an extra charge but if you have it and have wifi then should solve your issue.

    Do you have a wifi router? Then you can use UMA and your wifi router for your signal. BTW, you can use UMA without the hotspot plan. It will just deduct from your regular voice plan instead of the hotspot plan.

    I don't get good reception in my bedroom unless I'm right by my window. If I'm making a call in my room, I use my Bluetooth headset and leave the phone on the window sill. Kinda annoying, but its an easy short term work around...

    Whatever the walls in your apartment are made of, it's blocking the signal. My apartment building was built in the 70's or 80's and I get perfect signal everywhere in my apartment. I got lucky I guess, cause in my parents house I get very low signal.

    Yea I like my router, and there are several other unlocked routers in my hood, that I automatically jump on.

    My friend has this same problem- and because he uses his BB as his homephone, having it not connect in the bathroom, etc. is bad bad bad. He bought one of these:

    ThinkGeek :: Cellphone Signal Extender

    works like a charm. All the sudden we both have full bars everywhere (He called me over to see if it worked for me too). So if you don't have a wifi phone this would probably be your best bet. It's a little expensive but it's not like you can't pick it up and bring it with you when you move.
