No messages after WIPE
I wiped my 8310 BB today. It's a BES based service with my company and we run IBM Domingo (or whatever the name for the Lotus Notes server).
After the wipe, I connected the BB to my laptop and fired up DM. BB began doing activation. ~60 minutes later it was done. I have access to the calendar, address book and can send mails. It even downloaded the folder structure of my mailbox. but I dont have ANY mails in it!!!! What should I do?

Did you backup before the wipe then restore? If not, the only way to get back all of your old emails is to have your BES admin delete your profile then re-add you, then you have to wipe again, and do wireless ea. The BES server thinks it's already delivered all those old messages, so it won't resend them unless it shows as a new profile.

I did WIPE for two reasons:
1. Last time when my device activated with the BES, something went wrong and the IT guys had to activate it again. After that I had 2 of everything: mail, calendar, addressbooks.... one was in sync with the server and the other one was up to date for the activation day.
2. The BB started acting slowly and I wanted to lower the ammount of messages. So I chaged the setting for "keep mail" from "Forever" to "30 days" However, the old messages didn't disappear....
I do the a backup from just a second before the wipe. However, if I restore it, I will probably have either: a. again to storages b. Old messages... and I dont want to...

I had the same problem with I upgraded my Tour OS. Don't restore your personal backup. That's causing the duplicates. Wipe it, then let the BES Admin reactivate you. You'll be restored from the BES backup and be back to normal.

What if I use DM to sync. the BB with Lotus Notes from my desktop and then enable wireless sync?
-
I've never used Lotus Notes. If you have wireless sync, why do you need to sync with DM? Is that a Notes requirement?
-
No, but that way I will be able to get all of the old email to the BB, and than, when I enable wireless sync, I will start getting the new emails directly...
Otherwise I have to contact IT to remove/add my BES account. This is complicated as I work in a huge corporation and the IT is outsources to India....

Your approach might work. I don't see any downside to trying it. If it doesn't, an alternative way to get your old emails back in your inbox is to forward them from your PC to your BlackBerry again.

DM won't sync old emails that have already been pushed to your device without your IT admin recreating your profile I've never had a problem completing ea after a wipe, and restoring from backup doesn't create duplicate everything.

I've only had a problem completing Enterprise Activation once. That's when I ended up with three copies of all my contacts before I gave up. My IT guy remotely wiped my Tour and loaded everything from the BES backup. I always call my IT guy before I do an OS upgrade, get his approval, and make sure he's available in case I have a problem. We're on a first-name basis. It doesn't sound like it's that easy for knfevg.
