    I have the Blackberry 8310 and it has always been on the Edge network, about 2 or 3 weeks ago its has switched to the GSM network and i no longer have the Edge network. Can someone explain and is there a solution?

    First, do a battery pull. Remove the battery for 30 seconds then put it back in. Then go to your carrier's BIS site and resend the service books. It could also be a tower problem, all the BlackBerrys I had were on GSM at my house but when I went up to another location, mine went back to EDGE.

    Are you somewhere where there is limited service? Do you have any bars?

    I had the same thing happen to me about the same time (2-3 weeks ago). After resending service books didn't help I contacted AT&T CS and was told that my nearest tower (which is literally within eye site of my house) had been taken down for maintenance the day before.

    They transferred me to Tech Support. Tech had me turn my phone off for 3 minutes while they did something (can't remember what they said they were doing.) When I turned my phone back on all was back to normal.
