Kind of suspicious that she used @blackberry instead of just blackberry in the actual tweet. Like she was letting them know her job was done.

She does often tweet instagram pictures so I imagine she uses another phone. Highly improbable that she carries multiple devices around.

Not highly improbable at all. There's pictures of Kim Kardashian with her 9900 and iPhone in the same hand. Why would a Hilton heiress be any different?

I remember reading about U.S. laws that require a person to make it known that they were being paid to tweet something, where they would have to write "(ad)" or "#spon" or something like that.

I hate when celebrities do that on Twitter, or tweet stuff like, "Wow, I'm totally obsessed with these new _____________!" followed by a link. It makes me feel like the person would do anything for money (which, in most cases, celebrities do). In any case, Paris and Nicky Hilton are cool, Nicky is the more..shy one I guess. Paris has a huge following too, and while most people think of her as being a stupid blonde rich girl, she has built herself an empire, and much like RIM, is HUGE in Indonesia and Latin America. Those are places with the people that buy up her purses, fragrances, watches, etc.

Paris Hilton has also done a good job of not endorsing a bunch of junk like the Kardashians have. A lot of the tweets from the Kardashians are endorsing products that aren't theirs, like weight loss products, random clubs, etc. I'm sure lots of people will only remember Paris Hilton from her sex tape, but it's pretty impressive how she has built a business empire...especially considering the fact that she could have skated thru life without working a day in her life.

I don't think that is a universal law (i.e. Federal law). I know that NY has a law that states attorneys have to put certain language in an email to indicate its an advertisemetn. I don't think that "celebrities" have to do this as they are not offering professional services

UK law on the other hand could have an issue if they're being paid for it:

Tweet nothings? - Advertising Standards Authority

Although it's all a bit vague about when it's obviously an advertisement...

Wayne rooney, among others, was caught getting paid for mentioning nike but not saying it was an ad. The law now, atleast there, is to force any paid advertisements to state it is an ad before the click bait has taken place
