Attention all hockey fans,

Just wondering with the launch of the new NHL.com website I believe they also launched new apps. I emailed the developer for the BB10 app to see if we are getting an update and to be honest I got a response I don't know what to make.

I am wondering if anyone with a Android (Priv or not) or iOS device can confirm if a new app was launched?

have you checked to see if your device is on the list? I have an android and while my app was updated, i don't see anything much new with it. What exactly are you looking for?

can't even find the app in BBW. i have a Q5.

I downloaded the new app through Snap. Doesn't work very well with my Passport. It now requires google services for certain options. It gets stuck on most pages and a lot of material is inaccessible, such as game previews. When setting up, it gets stuck on notifications set up page. You actually have to press the "go back" button then hit next. All in all, it's not worth the update if you're using the android version on BB10

The app patches perfectly with Cobalt's tools and works fine. Latest from Google Play Store.

Unfortunately, I patched the new NHL Gamecentre app (per Cobalt's patcher method) and while the app works mostly, when you click on an individual game to see the details (i.e. who scored, individual stats, etc.) only a blank page appears....you can still back out of that page back to the overall scores page (to see all the day's games & score) but the individual game page doesn't work....

Also, after the 1st time, when I close the app and open it later, the app just hangs on the NHL page with the 'circle of progress' going endlessly....

The native GCL app was discontinued ages ago. It's still able to pull some data, though. You really want to sideload the Android apk for it.

I'd suggest finding the older version. The new one that was just released doesn't like to play nice with BB

Just looked at my app and it appears the scores and stuff update but looking at all my news feed it's all stuff from last weekend.

Just wondering if this has anything to do with my app or not.

This is exactly what happened to the NFL app before it was terminated. News stories did not update, but scores did. Unfortunately, it is probably not a good sign. And it's a shame there are no good sports apps available. Oh, and get ready for the onslaught of "BB10 browser is superior and you can just use that" comments. The only app left that is ok is TSN, but for NFL, they don't calculate total yards correctly. It has NHL scores too.

I agree everything that you said. In recent moths I have been using The Score app. I never gave it a good go before but now I am seeing it as an under appreciated Android port.

I find the app has plenty of good info, news and covers all the major sports. Bonus for soccer fans is it has coverage of that too.

What specific issues did you have? I have a Q10 and my app performance is good. I did prefer the native Score app that launched with BB10 though

It was slow, lagged, and crashed. I also found that it drained battery. And I really hated the idea that I had to download another app to force close it. It just got cumbersome after a while since I used it fairly often. I have given up on ported and native Android apps for these very reasons.

The version I am currently using that has stopped providing the news is 1.4.4.414.1

This was the native BB10 app from years ago.
