Personally, I feel BlackBerry needs to be on the bleeding edge of Android when Priv goes on sale.

Otherwise, another BlackBerry "bust" in a long string of them.

I truly feel badly about BlackBerry's rut. But, I am also heartened by John Chen's tenacity to try to find a way back.

I doubt it at launch. Who knows how long it will take to be updated also.

There simply won't be enough time between the release of the Marshmallow source code and the "send to manufacturing" date of the Priv (BB's build of Android needs to be finalized and tested weeks before the devices hit the store shelves).

But BB is obviously going to be motivated to get a Marshmallow release out as quickly as they can, as Marshmallow has a lot of security and privacy updates that will be important to BB and BB's userbase.

They'd have to delay the release until December if they went Marshmallow. HTC is announcing their first Marshmallow device on Oct 20 for holiday season release but they have long ties to Google, are a founding member of OHA and thus have established relationships with Android teams and also contribute code to Marshmallow as do most large Android OEMs.
