I just got my first BB - a refurb Pearl 8130. It comes with BB Maps, but I see lots of people talking about downloading Google maps, Yahoo maps, etc. What's the advantage to using some other program?

Also, I read that maps aren't stored on the device, they're downloaded as needed. Is it possible to have maps, at least for a frequently used area, stored on the device?

    Thanks.

    Kiwi,
I suggest you download Google maps (free) and trying it out.
    You can always delete it.

Not sure about storing frequently used maps.
    Good Luck
