It reads.
The wireless update consist of three steps, requesting the new software, downloading the software, and then updating the software on your Blackberry device.

Did Verizon push an OS update to me??? I'm on an out of the box Tour OS and the phone works perfect and I hear when people update sometimes they run into issues. So i really don't want to update.

What os does your phone have on it? .40 ? Also if ya dont want to upgrade ya dont have too! However im unsure how to remove the notification. Try hiding the icon

whatever the most recent OS is for it. check the storm forum, there should be threads concerning the update and the OS.
