Unreal. Unfortunately, if it looks like a whatsapp, smells like a whatsapp, steals like whatsapp, bothers you like whatsapp. It's probably whatsapp.

I'm not a WhatsApp user (Hangouts/SMS/BBM for me), but here's what it apparently looks like on Android. Definitely some BBM influence in there (but a trimmer version of it), but also a little Hangouts influence (particularly the input area at the bottom) and some uniqueness as well. I personally like the look of it, it looks like a more efficient use of GUI space than BBM, or at least BBM on Android.

It's unfortunate that people think whatsapp is the original. I wonder if there are any legal avenues to get this blatant copy changed or discontinued entirely, sort of like what they are doing to the typo keyboard. It's a shame BlackBerry gets no credit for their brilliant work. I find myself really disliking these companies that have become successful by blatantly copying BlackBerry while giving no credit to their obvious inspiration...
