LINE Corporation is also focusing on Southeast Asia and South America as it expands. The company says it has been strengthening global marketing efforts through television commercials and joint promotions in Indonesia, Malaysia and Mexico.

Good job by Line. There is definitely money to be made in that market, and it is still young, LIne, Kakao and others have been able to make money with apps and other purchases, so it does seem like a good potential revenue model. Problem for will be...well first, that they're even around to attempt anything. Second, that they are way behind...even more so if they intend to build up and integrate other purchases like kakao and line are doing....let's just get the basic chat working - let alone the "advanced" features. Finally, they'd need to be MUCH bigger/lucractive than these companies if they wanted to maintain the company at anything remotely resembling previous scale. Of course, now that the company definitely won't be the old BB (already fundamentally different/smaller), they may be able to get a "small" business going in the chat arena!
