Never heard of the Kopi. The pic makes it look like a housing of a phone, since there's no 'belt' on it, it probably takes on the form of the Q5 with a similar silver chin of the Z30. Then again, Of they truly are making this, then I'm not entirely sure what demographic it'll try and target. Any ideas?

May be a Q5 with a silver case or it could be a test device that BlackBerry killed off. From what I remember hearing BlackBerry killed off the Kopi when they signed the deal with Foxconn.

Looks like a Q5 with a removable battery + faster processor. N4BB are saying the device has been making the rounds with BlackBerry partners :/ could be what's dropping the end of 2014?

Kopi has been a rumored device for awhile now. Till this thread it was thought to be one of the scrapped models.

I would suspect that these photos are simply due to somebody getting their hands on a discontinued prototype as this device was pre-foxconn deal meaning that it will have been killed off since they are better at cutting hw costs to enable cheaper models than BB can.

That doesn't stop BlackBerry for building system files for the dead platforms, somehow.

Lack of space for carrier branding makes me wonder if this was for developing markets. Anyway it's too similar to the Q5. Glad this got scrapped.

Two reasons.

One, the radio code, firmware and OS support will be repurposed (Jakarta?), so it's in preparation for that.

The other, that someone forgot to turn off the "build Kopi/Cafe radio" switch on their build machine.

Looks like the q5, not a big fan of that. I remember when I moved to the q10, I kept reaching for the toolbelt, but after a couple of weeks, I got used to it, and I would rather have more screen space than a toolbelt tbh.
