I'm not sure it's a popular car in N.A, but it sure is in Europe.
"Mini" (the brand) is a part of the BMW group and this vehicle sells like hotcakes in EU towns (especially).

See by yourselves here : Hatchback Cars | MINI Hatch, Small Cars | MINI
(P.S: I've linked the UK site, as lastest model isn't vailable in U.S.A yet).

One of the most advertised feature is the "Connect" infotainement system.
Looks great ! So great I tried to figure out wether it was QNX powered or not.
Thanks to this article I'm now quite sure it is.

    Have a look :
New MINI CONNECTED Infotainment system runs QNX-capture.png
and here for full features : MINI UK €“ MINI RANGE - HATCH - CONNECTED

    Cool, uh ?

I'm not surprised, QNX is pretty much everywhere. Mini Connect is just a reskinned version of BMW's iDrive which runs on QNX. Rolls-Royce, now owned by BMW, also uses iDrive as an infotainment system.

What I don't understand is. Why isn't BlackBerry bragging about it, in advertisement that is?

Because QNX strategy is to be "in the hoods / white brand".
It's an underlying system, customized at will by manufacturers.
It is not QNX Connect, it is Mini Connect. Something car makers are very attached to (marketing wise) and reason it's often difficult to have any kind of confirmation issued by QNX (eh, Paul ! ;-))

I recently got a notice in the mail from Ford saying the warranty on my Focus' MyFordTouch system was being extended for another 5 years, and that this included additional software updates etc.

Mine works fine, but I wonder how many issues are popping up that would prompt them to do this (and perhaps related to the earlier rumors that they were ditching MS for QNX). QNX-based systems definitely seem to be the way to go.

Could also be there are limitation on what QNX and BlackBerry are allowed to say in reguards to QNX use in the iDrive Systems. Many of these contracts might have been drawn up YEARS ago when QNX was first chosen as the embed OS to RUN things.

QNX: The little-known company that controls your car - Fortune Tech

There is no doubt that QNX has a future - with or without BlackBerry. QNX is really why I taught MS might be interested in BlackBerry.... patents and BES would just be a plus if the price were right.
