So, after years of avoiding BB's, and putting myself through the paces with other horrid devices (I went through about 55 phones in 07), I finally gave in, and ordered myself a red Curve 8330.

    Wow.

This thing is great. I love how things seamlessly work. Just love it.

There are a couple things I miss from my Touch Diamond/WinMo days though, but I'm sure something must be available to cure my addiction...

In the past, I often used Live Search to get phone numbers, or local attractions based on my GPS location. Is there something I'm overlooking? If its out there, I'm sure you guys can help me out!!

Also, is there a better way to youtube on this thing? The 1" by 1" thing is kinda... Well, not so useful.

Any answers would be greatly appreciated!!

    Thanks!

Oh wow. You're awesome!!! As far as the 4.5 os upgrade goes, I'm currently on Sprint, and was kinda hoping for an official release, but if that gives me full screen youtube, I just might go for it now.

What about a good rss reader, that isn't Viigo?

I don't suppose Live Search will work on a Verizon BB?

    For clubdownforce, welcome to CB!

dvdfan2k, it wouldn't hurt anything to install it and give it a try. At worst, it doesn't work, and you uninstall it.

    Happy Holidays!

55 phones in one year? I hope that's exaggerating...

BBMaps and Google Maps both have local search functions to find businesses around you, etc...that sort of compares to what you're asking I think.

Welcome. FreeRange is a RSS reader that people seem to like around here. I just installed it so I can't give too much feedback on it yet.

55 in a year?! That's more than a phone a week. How is that possible?

Haha, thanks for the welcome guys!

55 phones in one year is no exaggeration. I own a phone store, and we sell Sprint. Mind you, those were not all BRAND NEW phones either...

But yes, I'm kind of a phone *****!! But I REALLY like this thing!

    Welcome to Crackberry.com

Windows Live Search like AG pointed out and TellMe is one I've heard to be good. I haven't used either for Blackberry though.

Congrats on the new device! I have the 8330 through sprint too and I love it!

I use Tellme all the time and it is a great product. Though it is not a Microsoft product, it is endorsed by Microsoft, so I would assume it uses Live Search. It has GPS compatibility and sounds like exactly what you're looking for (and it's FREE).

You can download it directly to your device at "m.tellme.com". Just use the BlackBerry browser.

Oh, tellme was something that used to be available on Helio phones. It was about the only thing that worked correctly, lol.

The maps feature built in on the BB seems to work great as well. Livesearch for BB is nice, but doesn't use GPS like the WinMo version does.

Ill try tellme for BB, see what that is like.

So, is there a "must have software" thread or anything like that?
