- I have just recently got into the techno world. A year ago I bought my first smart phone when they got to a point that I felt they were useful. I did not want a iPhone or a blackberry and that was about I'll the parameters that I had. After looking at a couple of phones (droid, windows, etc...) I look at a torch. I thought it was awesome and it did everything and more. Later I found that I could throw it against a wall and it was fine. It's a great product and did all and more that my friends iPhones did but here,s the difference. I discovered smart phones when every company had touch screens and apps. So I was not romanced with apple. Recently I purchased a playbook which I use for my business and personal. I am totally impressed. RIMs equipment is awesome. Therefore, when I read these posts about the PB being a piece of s@#$ I did not understand because I am not in love with the personae of apple. There good products but so are droid and blackberry. After using the ipad and the pb, the pb much better for what I do. Now if someone wants to take pics and play scrabble with friends I'll tell them to get a ipad.
When I am getting on BB forum to research how best to use the playbook and see a bunch of iphone user talking about how much BB sucks, I do not understand #1 why they're doing it, and #2 how they would know. I remember late eighties apples where in all the schools and sucked. everyone wanted windows. Apple was in the tank and they pulled themselves out. Now I think there best attribute is marketing. Decent products but not the best but promoted as cutting edge. A sucky voice recognition app?? That's they're selling point?
RIM is down but that will promote creativity and improvement. They got a great product to work with so we will see.

As a consumer privileged to have what is wanted or needed BB continues to be my first choice for dependability and functionality. 2012 should be even better with the QNX devices coming out.12-19-11 07:26 PMLike 0 - I have just recently got into the techno world. And welcome to CrackBerry.12-19-11 08:48 PMLike 0 - I used to own a Commodore Amiga. We used to get bagged up hill and down dale by Windows and Atari users.
Then I ran a BBS based on Amiga software. We used to get bagged up hill and down dale by other FidoNet sysops.
Now I own a Blackberry Bold and Playbook. Get the pattern? I'm a serial underdog.12-19-11 09:28 PMLike 0 - Welcome to Crackberry forums.
And i also think that Apple is doing fine because of thier advertising, not only, but they are doing smart advertising, RIM should do the same and show people why they are the best - using advertising.12-19-11 10:33 PMLike 0 - Hate to say it, but you have to dig through the some of the threads to find relevant commentary.
There are still users here who are happy to own the blackberry playbook and phone, (I am really happy with my Bold and PB).
Some users regret there decision that the PB/etc has not lived up to what they wanted it to do and have been using this forum to vent.
Others for some reason, love to create a negative post because this is one of the view forums where the users are really interactive with dialog... (I'm not kidding, most other forums either give you the "yeah I agree" answers or you get a max of 5 posts for a discussion, here the mods end up having to close threads as they won't end.)
Either way welcome aboard, and feel free to post if you have any questions, but I make no guarantee that it won't get hijacked or lost in the "clutter".12-19-11 10:43 PMLike 0
