I downloaded the new update for BlackBerry z10 to the 10.1 and after that it made my battery completely garbage. It was fine before I did this update. I regret doing it. Why send out updates that are killing the battery? Is there anything I can do? Hope they get their **** togeather soon and fix this.

Maybe try reloading the SW? Something could have gone funny during install.

At first I thought the title read "..killed my sex drive" I dont know why that came to mind, part of the title was cut off until I hovered over.

But on a more serious note, I feel the same way too. I actually did not back up my device so I had to reinstall everything and redo all of my settings such as sync intervals. It OS was treacherous at first in terms of battery life, but it really feels like its settling in now.

I had battery problems, then i loaded the 10.1.0.2342 leak on my Z10 and flashed the radio to 1881 and my battery life has been great.

The new one. 10.1. And I did it a few days ago.

Yes, I know 10.1, I meant the exact version.

Also, I was going to mention that updates chew the battery for a number of hours after updating - as everything is re-syncing - but if it has been a few days, it sure should have settled down by now.

I had the same problem but after three days and a couple of routine battery pulls (I always have a spare battery ready) the battery life is better than ever.

Was it 10.1 update pushed to your device, where your phone notified you of an update, or did you install a leak? If you installed something to your phone, that you didn't take the time and patience to research, how is that BlackBerry's fault? That's YOUR fault, for installing a leak. No "update" will appear, ready for download, on CB. It will only show up on your phone, for an OTA install.

Did you check the version? I'm curious because I tried a number of 10.1 leaks, and one in particular seemed to hard on the battery.

    I'm the definition of chill.

Your thread implies misinformation. You've not verified the OS version, nor the location or source of download. If you're in the US, we've not had any updates yet, which would mean you installed a leak.

When I installed 10.1.0.2342 I had the same issue battery was dead from full to 0 in about 4 hours with minimal use after second full charge it was dead in about 6 hours, i figured it was synching or something and waited. Now 4 days later I have 52% battery life at 13hours of regular use at work. Yesterday I had 20% left when I went to bed after about 17 hours of regular use at work. So I say give it a few days.
