Hi guys,

I need some help... what does it mean if under Advanced Options/SIM Card my BB 8900 Curve says that network / sim and so on is disabled !? Have I bought a locked BB ??? mep2 is also not working, I am getting no prompt...

If they are all disabled the phone should be unlocked and any SIM should work in it.

thanks to your fast response.. they are all indeed but nevertheless the "host routing table" is empty... if I am going to register it says it is going to be queued... ????!

Everything is disabled when i enter MEPD and my understanding is that the phone is unlocked, so why doesnt my fido sim work??

My girlfriend got me this phone and her prepaid fido sim worked before giving it to me and then when i inserted my sim it did not work, then we tried her sim and it did not work either.

Its an AT&T phone and it is unlocked because the person who she bought it from told her that it is unlocked
Please help me

Cant change it back once unlocked.

Do you have a BB data plan with Fido?

No its un unlocked at&t phone.
I want to use it using fido sim

The phone branding doesnt matter if its unlocked. If you do not have a Fido BB Plan you wont get any HRT data. Can you make and receive phone calls?

If all of the SIM options say disabled, your phone is unlocked. Sounds like there is an issue with the SIM if it wont work in either now.

The Fido SIM without a data plan will be voice/sms only. Put the SIM in and tell me what the network indicator says. Is it EDGE, edge, GSM, gsm, GPRS, gprs, 3G, or 3g?

ok i inserted my fido sim and this is what it says

Initialized Failed and in red letters "SOS"

when i go to settings n then mobile network it says "rogerwireless and network selection mode is automatic.

Go back to options > advanced options > SIM card and type mped.

Give me the results for the following please:

SIM:
Network:
Network Subset:
Service Provider:
Corporate:

If they are ALL disabled, try a different SIM. Also make sure that something did not happen to that account.

Voice should work just fine with Fido, the networks are compatible. Does it list the SIM card number there?

Sounds like there may be an issue with the device. The device should allow for voice communications regardless of data plan

It would be listed in the same menu. Options > Advanced Options > SIM Card

My girl's fido sim worked at first before she gave it to me and when gave it to me my fido sim did not work and she tried hers again and did not work either.

My blackberry says disabled on the following
sim
network
network subset
service provider
corporate.
and when i try to call it comes up saying service not available try again later i try and the same message pops up. i'm worried that my blackberry is blocked what to do ? when i do the mep2 it dosent work and my unlock code was array what does that mean and above mepd it says security disabled i have tried getting unlock codes on the internet my none helps.
