Not really since they actively block mobile browsers, and force you to use their client, which they may or may NOT have for BB10. There's a working leaked android port out there, but nothing official.....

It certainly doesn't hurt. If the browser based service ditches platform specific plugins (Silverlight), it should run in any sufficiently compliant HTML5 browser. It would probably also mean we'd never see an app, but who cares lol
Yes i know, i have the android port. i was talking more in terms of either using the 'desktop browser' function on the Z10 or making a more reliable argument/reason for NF to develop for BB.
If BB can support HTML5 and NF uses that then would it be easier to develop an app then when NF used Silverlight?
Do they really actively block mobile browsers? Is Silverlight even available outside of Windows Phone? Why deliberately block a service on mobile when most have an app anyway?
I haven't heard of them blocking. i do remember Hulu doing that - where it worked on the PlayBook at first, then they deliberately stopped it. not sure about Netflix though.
Honestly, I think Silverlight has little to do with why Netflix isn't on BlackBerry devices. As you said, almost nothing mobile uses it which means the content is served up to mobile devices in a common format to an app. There's likely nothing technical from preventing Netflix from coming to a Z10, Q10, PlayBook or even 9900, 9810's etc ... if Netflix wanted to do that. I bet they just don't want to pay to develop and support the app and pay for the tech support if it's not a big enough base that a sliver of the customers can lead to new subscribers for Netflix.
Awesome news. With html5 support, they will be able to support more platforms not just BB10.

The mobile Netflix apps already access an HTML5 compatible stream. This "change" really doesn't mean anything new for Blackberry or any other unsupported devices.
