Purchased a brand new BlackBerry Porsche P'9983 from a PD store here in the US. I absolutely love it not one problem.

    EXCEPT!

From my understanding ALL P'9983's are unique in that they have special PIN's starting with the prefix of "2AA". Interestingly mine does not. It begins with "2FF" (which is a PIN Prefix I have not seen before either).

Anyone have any insight into this oddity?

Damn nice phone! Wish I was rich! Haha. The only thing I can think of is if they ran out of using C. Although I don't know how much sense that would make...

You are lucky, you can get software update first before the others!

Thanks so much for that information. I must say that's very peculiar. An internal BlackBerry employee Porsche P'9983 somehow got packaged for retail sale. Wonder how many more of these there are.

The software updates thing is a huge perk! Thanks again Usman

Very interesting. I'm still pretty confused as to how one of those was packaged for retail sale. Thanks again Usman.

Maybe they've started releasing FF, if it bothers you that much, go back to the store and look at the PIN on a display model or ask to see another models PIN.

Frankly I wouldn't give it a second thought.

The 2FF may just be that it is made in Canada. I have a Canadian Q10 that is 2FF. Where is your P9983 made?

I think the special Blackberry phones are 2FFF.
