hi guys, I purchased a bb 9780 on ebay and it arrived 2 days later, it works well and is in good condition, however it does not let me download applications saying your system administrator has prevented installation of third party applications on this device. Contact your system administrator for details.

Does anyone know how to sort this out? ive tried a lot of things but its really hard someone help me please

Was this phone issued to you by your employer?

If so, then contact your IT Admin.

If not, then you need to reset the IT Policy on it. A simple search will help you with that.

Did you buy the phone used? It could be that the previous owner had a BES policy on the phone. Check out this thread:

thanks very much guys i sorted it using a guide on this forum, new problem, the operating system is os6 bundle 2469 or something like that, is it possible to upgrade a 9780 to os7? and if it is can anyone tell me how to do it? many many thanks

It's not possible to run OS7 on a OS6 device.
You can get a theme to make it look like OS7, though.

i managed to update my old pearl 9105 from os5 to os6 i cant see why this would be so dramatically different, os5 to os6 was a really big noticeable difference it was awesome on my pearl

No, you cannot update a 9780 to OS7. But you can update the version of OS6 you are running. To update your OS, take a look at this thread:

The Pearl 91XX actually has an OS 6 build, the 9780 never got an OS 7 build. You can't install an OS that was never made for the phone.
