    Hey
I am planning to buy a blackberry as my secondary device. Basic use: mail and bbm (even internet sometimes)
Cannot spend more than Rs 15000-18000 or $300-315. Since i wont be depending on it much....but want the best qwerty typing experience.
So what should be the best bb 7 device...since i know in that budget i will only be able to get a bb 7 device not bb 10 in india

Go with 9900/9930. That should be sufficient for your needs.

    I had a 9900 before the Z and i loved it.

That's a shame. Sounds like the Q5 was designed specifically for what you need. Good luck in your search!

I have not used a curve but had a couple friends use them with no complaints about the key board. However you should try one out in store to test

Big difference.....Curve is a good typing experience, Bold 9900 is a GREAT typing experience. I would suggest the 9790 B4 a curve if you can afford that....but the 9900 is really good. Although I prefer my Q10 over my 9900, for strait typing I still find the keys on the 9900 are better...slightly smaller then the Q10's, but the curved keyboard is better for finger placement.

I'm pretty sure you can find a bold 9900 grade AAA used device on ebay (or brick and mortar's) store for approx $100. And save the extra $200 for the Q5 comming real soon (don't know the Indian release date) for a *rumored* price of $300.
Had it in hands yesterday, it's a beautiful mid-range device.Need to buy a mid level blackberry for bbm and mail-img_00000634_hdr.jpg

You say "mid-level", but you really want low-level. The mid-level is the Z10/Q10. The low-level is the Q5. The high-level is the A10.

In BlackBerry's own line up, has the A10 even been officially announced?

For now, the Z10 is the high-end offering accompanied by the Q10 on the PKB front.
And this will stay the same until other BB10 devices come out that could change the status of these handsets.

    Btw, this is low-end:

In that case, given the parameters you've specified, your only choice would be whatever version of the Curve is available.

With bb10 out you'll see a price rope on the 9900 and as far as os7 its the top of the line for what you need Imo

No doubt if money is not limited, get a Curve. The can be had for cheap and worked very well.

But for the OP you need to get a second hand BB then get a Q5.Or just wait and get a Q5.I wonder how BB would push this devices in UK.Teenagers love the curve BB how will BB entice them student plans trade in plus cash??

Bb7 was never a very pleasant experience. It kind of is just the bare minimum.

In my 9810 it was better. On the curve 9360 it was abysmal. I can't in good conscience recommend os 7 and earlier for anyone.
