I washed my blackberry the other day and not having much luck getting it reactivated. So looks like I'll be doing an upgrade. I have Curve 8330.

What does everyone suggest going to? I use email, SMS, MMS, Messenger, internet, facebook, and google maps? I work outdoors (farming) and am looking for a durable phone.

    Verizon rep recommends the 9330

    What do you guys think?

I have only used the 8130, 8330 and the 8530. But I really like my 8530. its pretty durable and will do everything you want with ease. I know that newer, better phones like the 9330, are great phones, but if you are doing the basics (email, sms/mms, internet/facebook) then the 8530 is great.

You may also want to go ahead and check out the 9650 while you're considering everything. There's a price difference but the 9650 is a very solid phone, its a step up model wise from the Curve though.

I wouldn't suggest the 8530.. Don't get me wrong its a good durable phone but if you do a lot of typing. The buttons are smaller than those on the 8330.. it may drive you nuts..

+1 for the Bold 9650. Like your 8330 it feels sturdy/solid i your hands. Curve 8530 felt cheap, plasticy and flimsy when I looked at it. Bold's keyboard is better too.

Don't really know about the 9930. But I have the 8330 and bought the 8530 on my last upgrade. I hated the 8500 its a smaller phone. The buttons are smaller and closer together. I do a lot of texting and emailing.. i ended up reactivating my 8330 and gave the 85 to my son.

That's your best bet. in the end, it doesn't really matter what anyone here thinks, it matters what you think.

I just went to phone store and handled both the 9650 and the 9330. I don't have huge fingers but I like to be able to do things with gloves on if I have too. I may try the 9330 and Verizon has the 30 day trial, if I don't like it I'll go to the 9650 Bold.

I'm just giving you an FYI so as to not get caught off guard but Verizon charges a restocking fee of I think $30 if you deside you want the 9650.

Actually... I posted in the other thread you made (I'm assuming it was you, cuz of the farmer bit) - you should get the style. A flip phone can take way more abuse than a curve or a 9650.

Also, not sure how much you used your camera w/flash on the 8330, but between the 8530 & 9330 one of them does NOT have flash on the camera. Just a thoguht if it's important.

I jumped from an 8330 to the 9560....HUGE IMPROVEMENT.

Thanks for all the input guys. I called Verizon and utilized some credits on our account and having discounts. Got the 9650 for free. I'll look at an otterbox cover for it.
