    Is there a specific way to tell if an app is native or not because I still see a lot of apps that work well even though they're ported.

    A ported app means that the app is using the Android runtime, to see if it is.. the easiest way is to swipe down from the top and see if you can enable the permanent back bar, if not it's native!
