So my girlfriend tells me today that she just looked in her voice notes folder for the first time and found 37 voice notes that are all 10 min long that she did not record. When she listened to them they're just random silence, and other random stuff throughout the day. All 37 voice notes were recorded on Friday, July 24th. U can even hear my girlfriend say "how come my phone's dying so quickly?" and other sounds that sound like she's texting. Has anyone ever had this problem? She's obviously freaked out cuz she saw a Tyra Show about people spying on other people by hacking in their phones. I reassured her that Blackberrys are hackproof... she even asked me if i was stalking her lol... Any ideas what the eff could've happened? She's running OS v.4.5.0.124...
Yeah thats the first thing I did... Camera on left conv key and Messages on right... Her voice note recorder icon on her home screen is hidden to add to the mystery...
I would do a phone wipe and load a new OS. Atleast make sure the download from the new OS is direct from either the carrier site or BB. Probably a freak thing, but can't be too careful.
That would freak me out too, I'm already paranoid about having hacked software on phones. lol
OMG the same thing happened to me with my curve 8330!! There were over 30 voicenotes recored in January. Even while I slept!! That part freaked me out the most. I assumed it was somehow tied to my bluetooth. I stopped using my bluetooth and started using the headsets that came with my bb. Its still a mystery on how and why that happened!!!
Btw I saw that same episode on either Tyra or Oprah and I thought the same!!

That would probably be best.. I don't think blackberry's are as hack-proof as RIM would like us to think. Technology isn't perfect because its made by man. And Lord knows man isn't perfect..

I've got a BB 8330 as well: same problem. Starts recording leaving one GB of 10-minute voice notes. I now know I snore! This recording issue is disturbing; some of my work is sensitive. I've noticed that sometimes when I plug or unplug from USB, voice command starts-up. Maybe the same thing initiates voice recording as well.
I wasn't home for Oprah's b-cast, but I wouldn't be surprised if homeland security didn't ask for a couple of hooks into cell phones. In the interest of national security, of course.
