a bit of a story, but a success story, so read through and it may work sometime when you need it! so the other day i was caught in a terrible (unexpected) rainstorm when walking to the train...i wasn't very prepared so i stuck my curve into my bag, which proceeded to be soaked through anyways. when i arrived at the train station, my curve was pretty wet, and not functioning very well...the track ball sensitivity was almost out the window, the flash for my camera was stuck, shining a bright white light everywhere, and then after about 6-7 minutes of trying to fix it, the screen went to a dull grey. of course at this point i'm panicking and try a few battery pulls, to no avail. i left the battery out on the train for about a 2 hours, and tried it again, same thing. i read on a forum that someone had put their blackberry in rice, seeing as how rice draws out moisture. i say what the heck, i'll try anything, so i stick it in a bowl of rice, battery out. at this point it's been about 4.5 hours since it got wet, and being a little impatient as i had to be somewhere that day, i take it out and try it one more time. fingers crossed, my blackberry jumps to life, all things functioning properly! it's been about 48 hours now without any problems so i think we're ok! now i'm not entirely sure if the rice was what did the trick, but who knows....

I'm sure the rice helped, but to be on the safe side I would put it back in the rice ASAP, in a sealed baggie for at least an overnight rest... moisture has a way of sneaking where it shouldn't go.
