I am running OS 4.5.0.xx, a few 3rd party apps (Goggle maps 2.3.1, Worldmatelive 2.5.20, Telenav 5.1.1.39, Audible 1.0.7.00, Alert matrix 2008.6.24.42)

I'm finding that (seemingly) RANDOMLY when I go to voice dial, "Say a command" pop-up on screen as it should, but there are no voice prompts AND the 8800 seems to "freeze". Alt-cap-del reboots, but doesn't fix it - even a battery pull of >Min does not work.

Any ideas? Is this a know problem? I've scoured the web for info! even Nuance's (who bought VoiceSignal) site doesn't mention the issue.

Have you checked how much file free you have? Options > Status. Anything less than 12 000 000 bytes is not good.

Found the problem: non-typical characters ( /, in the name field (I had these characters in the first and last name fields) cause Voice dialer to hang upon initialization
