    Greetings,

    I am looking into this issue, with no real luck, perhaps the community here knows, or can help me hash out more of an answer.

    Situation:
    I use my 8220 to stream audio, as do many other users of all makes etc. One particular feed I enjoy listening to is a Police/Emergency feed local to me. A kind local scanner / radio enthusiast has set up this feed, free for use. Basically has a few physical devices scan local frequencies, and feed via the internet.
    I use both WIFI, and BIS/Data to listen to this feed, depending on where I am at the time, however, my enjoyment really comes from booting around town listening in the car (via data).

    Recently, the operator had blocked off all blackberry IP's. The reasoning being, some blackberry connections were making multiple connections, via the same IP, simultaneously to the operator's server/feed.

    ex;
    My 8220 IP is say 123.456.7.890; and using BIS/Data, I connect to SERVER-A.
    The operator sees 1 open connection from my IP to said server, along with other misc info with my carrier / OS etc;
    04/20/2009 - 08:25:30 - 123.456.7.890 / 8220 ; 4.6.0.222 Rogers/Fido / Active

    This is fine, however, sometimes, the operator reports the IP making multiple connections, to the same server, at the same time(sometimes 4 or 5);
    04/20/2009 - 08:25:30 - 123.456.7.890 / 8220 ; 4.6.0.222 Rogers/Fido / Active
    04/20/2009 - 08:25:30 - 123.456.7.890 / 8220 ; 4.6.0.222 Rogers/Fido / Active
    04/20/2009 - 08:25:30 - 123.456.7.890 / 8220 ; 4.6.0.222 Rogers/Fido / Active
    04/20/2009 - 08:25:30 - 123.456.7.890 / 8220 ; 4.6.0.222 Rogers/Fido / Active
    04/20/2009 - 08:25:30 - 123.456.7.890 / 8220 ; 4.6.0.222 Rogers/Fido / Active

    This happening with multiple blackberry users, ends up flooding the servers. The operator notes this does not happen with other user types (winamp / WMP etc)

    Now, I have been working with this operator, to try and research why this is happening however I am not finding much online. I am attempting to reproduce this issue with my own BB / connections, and have been unable to so far. The operator notes this usually happens with an 8130 user.

    ***TLDR***
    Does anyone know if/why/how a BB would make multiple concurrent connections to a streaming server over data/BIS?
