I hope the announcement on Jan 30th is all its supposed to be. My contract isn't up till June but if rim can convince me to purchase off contract then kudos to them. I want BlackBerry to succeed but the wait has been atrocious and playing catch up for the past 3-4 years hasn't sat well with me either, just tired of always supporting the underdog and always playing catch up. Come on RIM reignite my love for blackberry, I'm counting on you. Maybe I just need some rest....

I think getting ooVoo is a coup; it is reasonably cross-platform and fairly popular. Before Skype came to Android, it gained prominence on that platform.

Yeah, if Skype, WhatsApp and other corss-platform messengers don't make it to BlackBerry 10 at launch, and there happens to be a substitute (ooVo is pretty much confirmed, and RIM/BB's own LiveProfile might be there), there is a good chance that these reigning kings (Skype, WhatsApp) will fall out of grace. If BB 10 takes off and Skype, WhatsApp don't make it (but their substitutes such as oVoo do), they( Skype, WhatsApp etc.) are going to be very sorry!
