I just measured data usage for opening m.crackberry.com vs www.crackberry.com

Mobile with and without javascript used 130kb
Full web went over 1mb just before the page was fully loaded
Full web with javascript went over 1mb half way and after it was loaded I clicked on forums link and it went over 2mb.

So even with data compression we use that much data. Beware when roaming.

With load images disabled the mobile version only used 60kb and the full page used 380kb, so it's the images and javascript that use the most data.
Interestingly, if you close the browser and open the pages again without the cache cleared the mobile version only uses about 10kb and the full one just over 100kb to open the pages again even though it takes almost as long to open them again.

    Are you bored yet? Lol

Are you using the same web browsers and loading the same content? If you're that concerned about data usage on your desktop stop using your bloated web browser and download Lynx.

    lynx.browser.org

I'm talking about browsing from a blackberry not desktop.
