Hey everyone, recently tried a 256gb micro sd card in my Z30 and it wouldn't work, any idea if that has to do with software, hardware? Any workarounds?

I don't think those exist yet so... maybe that's why?

I read here that the new Samsung will be able to take the 256 card. I've seen a few on online but I don't think they've shipped yet.
Someone also here on CB has one, check the threads.

Just to be clear... are we talking about the SanDisk 128Gb cards or did I miss something?

Yes, it's the new SanDisk 128 gb card that came out the other day. Yes they are shipping.
Firstly 128 GB is not the same as 256 GB. If you have a 128 GB microSD card and it is not seen by your BlackBerry 10 smartphone, try formatting the card with the smartphone...see Storage and Access under Settings.

After trying the above I'd be curious to see if this worked. I know when I got my 64GB card it wouldn't work until I formatted it using the Z30, and if this works it would be awesome.
I got the 128 gb card yesterday and it will work. It comes formatted exFAT and is not able to be formatted by a Z10 or Z30 running 10.2.1.2102. Windows format will not format FAT32 because of artificial restrictions. I tried several utilities and finally found one that would successfully format, 'guiformatter'.
