I would really like to be on metros 40$ unlimited everything plan but a rep has told me "it doesn't work." So I was wondering if it was meant that bis doesn't work but you'll still get minutes texts, data, etc. or if nothing will work.

Please if anyone can provide some info.

If you're using a BB 10 device (your profile doesn't state your device), a generic data plan is fine. If you're using a legacy device, you would need the BIS service to use it fully. That may be what the rep is thinking.
