For the past week I've had 2 messages icons on the top of my BB screen that will not go away , its telling its in my email folder but when I look in there, there is nothing showing as new messages

If you haven't resolved this yet, remember also that the Messages aggregator looks like an email envelope but reflects message activity from email, phone calls, sms, BBM, etc. So it might have mislead you to think it's an email, but there might have been other calls or texts in other functions that are still technically "open" or unviewed.
