I got the following email from ATT Mobility LLC this morning. Anyone have an idea what this is? I currently have 7.1.0.258 installed. I ran the check for software updates and phone indicates no update available.

This kind of stuff is why I left AT&T. You should leave them as well.

That message may be properly ignored unless you wish to do an OTA upgrade of your OS. In my hands the current hybrid .714 is excellent on ATT. Worth the upgrade. Still waiting to see if the latest official works for us ATT users. As a general rule upgrading yourself is better than OTA on all counts.

Its just a message letting you know that there an OS update from AT&T. seen as your on .258 & AT&T official OS is .694.

Don't be so angry madman, it's because there's not an at&t OS currently installed on the phone, and would happen regardless of carrier.

It's a courtesy email carriers or RIM send out when an official OS update is available. I remember getting one a while back, and I'm on T-Mobile.

I remember getting a message from AT&T several months ago letting me know about an OS update for my phone. Not very timely as AT&T's last update for the 9800 is now over a year old, and I had updated the phone myself beyond AT&Ts official version long ago.
