The new Mercury is the last BlackBerry designed phone. I would love to see an all touch traditionally screened version. I also like phones that share design DNA.

If BlackBerry had come up with a flagship all-touch, I'd still be a customer.
BlackBerry should design the Passport Silver Edition 2 if that form factor should be maintained. I will like if BlackBerry stick to future Passport Silver Edition designs.

How many people does it take to design a phone? What kind of cost would be associated with a design department?
Then how much money will BlackBerry make from Licensing?
If these three licensee sell 10's of millions of phones a year, there would probably be enough to cover that and sill have money left over.. If these three licensee run into the same problems that BlackBerry had.... might not be enough licensing money rolling in to buy toilet paper.
I think Chen is cutting all the cost he can, if things go well they might look at adding more capabilities. But in the end, TCL probably has more talent to draw from than BlackBerry could dream about.
