We all know Mercedes AMG F1 team is sponsored by BlackBerry.
The launch of the W05 2014 F1 has been covered in various media articles (read in the forums : http://forums.crackberry.com/team-bl...es-w05-896833/) but what I found interesting is the last teasing TW I received from Mercedes :

i'm about to say something dumb, but i hate when there's advertising done with the Q10. let me explain, everyone know that blackberry offers physical keyboards, but bring up the z30 and nobody knows that thing even exists. I'd love to see some more advertising done with a z10/z30!
But then again, it's great to see blackberry getting some love!

Yeah, but it has a big recognizing effect of the brand... if used Z, it can be taken for an iPhone or a HTC, unless you "extrazoom" on the Brandname... but when using the Q, every one recognizes that is is a BB

You're 100% correct. the only problem is, keyboards are a niche product, so promoting those just don't get anyone's attention nowadays...

I agree. My wife has got the Z30 a few days ago and loves it. But when she shows it to colleagues everytime the same reaction: "It's great, but this can't be a BlackBerry..." BB brand is still heavily linked with (legacy) keyboard devices, "nobody wants anymore"...and the Q10 does not change this perception.
The Z30 is such a sexy device, it deserves more visiblity.

At a time when BlackBerry is loosing money I hate,seeing them waste $$$ on this.
Can't see it selling many phones to folks in India etc. nor in the US.

I'm very tempted to state that it is a pretty interesting support, especially if you add the high tech & reliability image. ;)

F1 is a truly Global sport. More then Baseball, Hockey, Basketball ect.
