    Hi,
    the new media synch was just the software I was after - but when i download it, it doesnt take me to the welcome screen, it shows my playlists (grayed out), also reconises that the 8820 is attached - but states cannot recognise device, when i close out of this initial screen and re-start media sync - it comes up with a windows type box "musicsync has encountered a problem and needs to close" - and from there on in keeps on giving the same message. I've un-installed and re-installed a couple of time to no avail.
    Any ideas gratefully received ....i'm running desktop 4.2 if this is relevant at all.
    cheers
    Simon

    I could use some help too, I connected my bold to desktop manager, and when I click on media sync, it says it is not installed, would you like to download it? Ofcourse I clicked yes, it goes through and downloads the 30mb worth of content and upon finishing the download, it crashes. every time. :/ what gives. :@

    This was happening to me too. To fix it, I found the downloaded installer on my computer and ran it myself. In Vista, it will by in C:\Users\{Your Windows Username}\AppData\Roaming\Research in Motion\Blackberry.

    Once there;

    1. Run BlackBerryMediaSyncSetupExtractor.exe
    2. Switch to the BBMediaSyncInstall directory it creates
    3. Run Setup.exe

    You should now be up and running.

    When I open Media Sync, it tells me that there are no playlists in my iTunes library! I have playlists, that's for sure.

    I really need help with this one! Anybody with some ideas?!?
