I've been thinking about going around town this summer to make a documentary, but my resources are limited. Every camera item I own is either broken or plain out useless and old. So, do you think the Z10 can make a film festival worthy film?

You'll need some sort desktop editing software. There's nothing very good available for BB10 afaik. Not to mention editing on mobile is infuriating.
Yay for shooting a movie on it. Have to agree with mikeo007. You're probably better off just pulling the footage off the Z10 and importing into Premiere, Avid, or even Final Cut depending on the file types.
I don't have a proper camera yet either and want to make a short film involving the Z10. If people can make movies on their iPhones, we can too! :-)
Sounds like a good idea, I see you mention funds were short but for starters I'd invest in a backup battery maybe a wide angle lens attachment and one of those small tripods that will hold a cellphone, for more steadier shots. Also not sure if you have one but a high capacity media card.
