Bad initial references. Porsche is the most profitable car company and people are willing to pay 2 to 5x the price of a Toyota for one. BB is not in the same game. Most of you would not pay 3x for a BB.
Exactly, but that analogy (plus the McDonald's one) gets used incessantly.

You read the words, but don't get the message!

    But, did I mention....
THIS IS JUST MY OPINION! I'm not "Telling" anyone anything. I'm only sharing what works for me.
And, while I have not addressed these opinions directly to anyone (personally) but have only replied to the posts,
you, continue to feel the need to personally attack me!

Ease up! I'm only sharing what works for me. In the end, everyone makes their own decisions.
I'm simply offering information that may add to the choices for "making" that decision!

And, in the bigger picture, nothing either of us say, means anything.

(.. and to quote Bobby) The final message to all my ranting is "Don't Worry. Be Happy."

    And, that's only a suggestion!

One last question, because I know I kinda veered off topic...
When the OP said "Lost a Friend," You didn't mean that literally, did you? ( just curious, really!)
I think that's the issue. That opinion leaves much to be desired, and really shouldn't exist.

The same could be said about the people who use Blackberries and hobble here for approval of their purchasing decisions in the face of better devices and ecosystems being available elsewhere.

"personal attack"?!? lol Show me where I attacked you personally and I will walk away. I WAS questioning your philosophy as to why people choose popular devices over others. So what? People like to use iPhones and some buy them because of their popularity. Do you know why? Popularity means they have purchased a phone from a company that will not fold and die (not saying BB will). Popularity also means buying a device with a HUGE amount of accessories and devices that app makers build BECAUSE of its popularity. Popularity also means supporting a company who has the resources to innovate.

I bought an S3 and will soon buy the S5. My top reasons:
    1. Android OS (personal preference)
    2. Google Ecosystem (contacts, music, documents, photos, movies, bookmarks, calendar, mapping, social network, etc all in one place and synchronized beautifully)
    3. POPULARITY- I know buying a popular phone means longevity in upgrades and a better selection when it comes to accessories.

So tell me, because I chose on popularity, does that make me a "follower", or someone who makes an informative decision for the reasons above?

sounds like she lied to you because she changed her mind or felt obligated to tell you she was going to get a Q10 after you did a sales pitch to her

blackberry doesnt have its own stores so she must have gone into a regular phone store which wouldnt have been dead and empty, she felt guilty when she looked at you and mumbled which indicates she knew you would flip out on her for her choice which is a bit sad because its just a phone not something important a friend should get mad over, she already has a personal iphone so she knew she liked the platform and if she really wanted a blackberry the fact that the store was dead wouldnt have mattered, she could have still gone in and bought the phone
This is wrong. She had an iPhone, but had an old BlackBerry not a BB10 device. You can't compare an iPhone to the old Blackberry

Well folks, on the other side of the fence, I was an iPhone user for several years and came back to BlackBerry because of 10.2.1.1. So Apple has lost one user to the BlackBerry brand.

I own a z10 and a z30 and I am not looking back. My only issue is the update situation here in the USA which was addressed by team Crackberry by an open letter to Mr Chen.

I find myself liking the OS and I mainly use my device for messaging and social media. I don't watch movies or play games so I feel the BlackBerry is a perfect fit.

I feel it's actually "cool" now when folks asked me what device I am using. When I tell them a BlackBerry, they looked stunned. Until I demo the Hub, Peek and the Gesture functions and then ask then, can your iPhone do that?? Enough said.

Great to hear. Thanks for the post.
I fell the same. I could not be more proud of my BB10 device.
The nice thing is, If you one day decide to watch a movie or play a game on your Z30 or Z10, it does an amazing job of it. Especially if you hook it up to a HD TV.
    All the best.

Brick and mortar stores are becoming increasingly hard to keep profitable. Look at how many well established companies are moving more into their online business and closing stores. This is one area BB really cant afford to throw money away on.

A better option would be smart use of funds for prime display space and BB specialists in existing stores, or at most a SWAS setup.
