I'm curios to know how many of you use the locking password feature on you Berry? I had a Treo prior to this phone and never locked it. But I'm now locking my new Curve.

Always in my holster. Don't bother with password.

I do use the locking feature. I have proprietary information for my business on it and that needs to be protected. Additionally, should the BB be stolen or lost I would know that someone who tried to hack the password would no doubt end up causing the BB to wipe the data within. Since I have that data backed up on my laptop should the BB be subsequently recovered I could synch it and be back in business.;)
Same here. Plus I don't want to spend the rest of my life, which it will total up to, to unlock it every time I use it.

I got used to it for a while when i had a corporate BB because we had to have it (IT policy) but, now that i just have my personal one, i've gotten away from it. it adds too much time to just glancing at messages, etc.
I use the password feature so that the wife can't get into the phone.
^ LOL!
Yep. Mine's locked most of the time. IF it's not in my hand, it's locked.
oohhhh.. sounds like you have something to hide.lol
Oowee Grafixx wonder what u have hidden on ur berry?! Lmao...

Yup I use it as well so that IF in the sad event I lose it, nobody can use it. I just found out that if you push and hold the A key on the blackberry, it will automatically lock the device as opposed to you going through all the menus.

Pressing 'k' at the home screen will lock it if you have dial from home screen off.
I have mine set to lock after 30 minutes.

I lock the keypad but never password lock.

Password lock when the BB is not in my hands. Just out of habit from my BES days.
BIS user with a 2 minute timeout for the password. Too many contacts and messages in my phone for it to be in the wrong hands (don't need one female getting mad about another one).

I started locking my BB, but had a problem when I tried to use Desktop manager, it asked me for the password - but when I typed it in it would not accept it. It just kept saying not recognised.
Any one know what I am doing wrong?

I have always either sim locked or password lock all of my phones. That way if they just "walked away" for any reasons, they would be harder to use, at least until I noticed it missing, and was able to call to get my service blocked to the phone/sim card.
I also know a few practical jokers that like to pull stunts with other people's phones and pdas.
yes i know exactly what you're doing wrong follow along with me now
i'm willing to bet that your password has numbers in it...well for some reason when you created the password on your bb your bb used the letters and NOT the number you thought you were using
just look at your keyboard and use the letter instead of the number when typing in your password
example you think your password is 1 2 3 4 in actuality your password when you type it into windows is W E R S
lemme know if my assumption is correct
Always lock and password. I don't want people getting into my berry.
