How much file free memory do you have? Alt+LShift+h to bring up a screen that'll tell you.
File Free memory is 651752 bytes
File total memory is 47841280
not sure how I took up so much space. any ideas how I can reduce? I also just recently installed a 4GB media card. Can I use that?
Your file free memory is incredibly low; I'd say that's your problem. Do a full reset: Alt+RSHift+Del, and as soon as the white screen appears do it again. That'll force a full re-boot. When everything settles down, check your memory again.
