For example I will ask for a passport 2 with some upgrades : better camara, water resistant a improve in pkb size and feel , dark hub and implement of some blackberry gestures. A little trackpad in the logo and finger security.

BlackBerry is still 100% responsible for the software, so your suggestions for that have nothing to do with TCL.

They already have a better camera and water-resistance may come anyway.

Passport form-factor is not permitted on Android due to 1:1 screen ratio.

Have to hope that TCL will be able to get some traction with carriers.... because as you say, here it seems most buy a more costly phones via their carrier with some sort of "special". Otherwise for direct purchase it's the really cheap phones that sell. You can take a look at Amazon's top selling phones... six of the top ten are under $100.

Think Alcatel has not had much success with the Idol 4 devices in the US.... That mid to low end market is just so crowded, but throw a BRAND name on a phone (even a damaged brand), and maybe they'll be able to capture a large portion of the market.

BlackBerry has full say so still over specs and design, plus I'm sure they'll make a BlackBerry water resistant anyway. But I like your idea.

Specs and design - no. Software - yes.

BlackBerry may have certain minimum conditions for the licencing, but it's mostly none of BlackBerry's business.
