I'm going to be all over the second android phone, if it is in a nicer formfactor. I like the idea of the g1 (touchscreen, trackball, keyboard) but the phone...well...yuck.
I did do alot of android hacking to get it on the mogul back in the day...
Good luck, I've read reviews that it doesn't live up to the hype and it's really just a beta version. It also lacks a lot of modern features that both BB's and iPhone have.
Plus let's be real, the external design is so generic. I know the guts are what are "supposed" to be the greatness, but it sounds like it's still in beta testing and they just released it to compete.
I'm sending it back...... if you depend on emails, the POP3 don't work, you can't save MMS pictures, the battery drains fast and the camera takes bad pictures. I ordered the BB 8220 and it's on the way !
I will be doing the same thing here shortly. I will get a G1 and see how it goes.
I love my Blackberry Curve and just downloaded the update for the browser (T-Mobile). I am glad that I can play video now in my BlackBerry browser and even take videos, but it still doesn't support flash.
I am hoping the G1 can give me all of that so I will just see. If I don't like it, I will jump back to my Curve in no time. I missed out on a free BOLD at the San Francisco BB Bold event on the 21st. I didn't go, so I missed out on a free BOLD! Oh well i guess.
At this point i have a Curve for personal and a curve for work, no matter what I will have a BB in my life.
BB is the way to go. I mean if your looking for more of an entertain phone then blackberry isnt for you. Its more of a professional business look. Makes people look at you and say (He must be important LOL)
I think whatever makes you happy is fine, but I just can't get over the physical design of the G1. I think its ugly especially because of the angled part where the buttons are.
