I'm sure people know about this but I was told about a different way to get a number or address besides using the typical 411. I heard that if you send a text of what your looking for and the city/ state to GOOGL (46645) yes no E. You will get a text message back from them with all the listings.

Just something I thought was cool and hopefully pass some useful information to someone else.

Yeah it works but the number is 466453. Type in what ever your looking for with city/state and they text you the info back. Handy when your looking for a sushi restaurant in an obscure location.

Yep, it works, I've been using this service for over a year now. What's just as interesting is Google 411 a voice service that replaces 411 and is free and even lets you get your answer back as a text message (1-800-466-4411). Very handy if you are looking for an address you need to remember when driving, and very nice since most mobile operators charge you per 411 call

well I typed it in my phone without the E and it worked just fine so I dunno how it has to be typed in now..... haha

i've got something even better.

NEVER CALL 411 AGAIN. cuz they charge u.

instead call GOOG 411, its by google of course. its available in canada and USA. i have used it a few times and it works dam good. i ain't paying rogers $1.75 again for 411.
